– William Jones, Brushville Road, East Palestine, reported Tuesday he received a letter on May 8 from the IRS claiming they needed more information to process his return. Jones learned from the IRS someone already filed a return using his name, address, date of birth and social security.

– Matthew Foster, Justison Road, East Palestine, reported at 11:09 p.m. Monday he bought a Samsung Note 2 through eBay and has been using it for about two weeks. When he got it there was a pornographic photo on it, which he deleted when he saw it. Later a porn site popped up asking him if he wanted to download something. When he declined the phone snapped a photo of him and a screen came up claiming to be from the FBI, showing his photo, all of his contacts and claiming there were more pornographic photos on the phone. The message claimed he will be fined and how to pay the fine. Deputies talked to someone at the FBI, who said they have received numerous phone calls about this scam. Foster was told not to pay the fine and take the phone to his carrier to have it cleaned for viruses.

– Kimberly Stokes, Charleton Drive, Lisbon, reported at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday someone was fishing on the dam on East Lake Road and his dogs were running loose. The dogs confronted her dog, who was on a leash, and she yelled to the man, but he did nothing to restrain his dogs. Deputies explained leash laws to the man.

– Andrea Mislosky, Woodland Avenue, Columbiana, met deputies at Theron’s after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mislosky said her boyfriend, Jerry Mathes threw her out during an argument. Deputies took her back to the house, where Mathes had most of her belongings already out on the front porch. They agreed to work together toward her moving out. She called a friend to pick her up and Mathes agreed to load the items up and deliver them to her friend’s house.

– Martin Solomon, Lisbon Dungannon Road, Lisbon, reported at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday his nephew came from Florida a couple months ago, homeless and still refusing to get a job. Solomon told him he will no longer help him and the nephew started texting threats toward him.

– Deputies were called to an 18th Street Heights, Wellsville, home for a possible overdose at 4:48 p.m. Tuesday. Tri-County Ambulance and Highlandtown first responders were there and an IV was already started in Chris Hermy’s arm. He was moving and came to shortly after deputies arrived. He at first balked at the idea of going to the emergency room, but then agreed to be taken to East Liverpool City Hospital.
